I will be available to answer questions at Wilson Park rink about the nuts & bolts of Devo on ice activities, our coaching philosophy & equipment on two Saturdays in October. We do not have ice time in October! I just want to be available to meet Devo parents and to answer your questions in person.
11 October 9:00-11:00
18 October 9:00-11:00 Canceled
We shall just have to see if I have enough registration packets for any earlybirds. Please be prepared to make a $100 deposit on ice fees.
I will check into the public skating schedule so anyone interested can get a little practice under our belts before our 1st practice. This may help returning skaters work off the rust. For our new skaters I hope this may help making learning to skate less intimidating. I will email you info about the cost for public skating and the dates/time etc.
Registration Info: There are some registration packets in my mail slot at the rink. Forms are not available online. I have not seen the revised forms.
Most of the forms will ask standard stuff such as date of birth, contact info etc. I recommend that you be prepared to provide info about the skater’s doctor, allergies (including food allergies) relevant medical history (such as asthma, diabetes) and perhaps even your medical insurance provider and policy no. In the past, SHAW has asked for your Driver’s License no.
There is a Code of Conduct that you must agree to as a parent. There is also a skater’s code that includes a no bullying policy. SHAW expects parents to explain the code of conduct including the no-bullying policy to their child. Coaches will enforce a strict zero tolerance policy.
You can also register between 9:00-11:00 on the *1st day of practice. Be prepared to make a $100 deposit for ice fees. Ice fees are not yet finalized, but you should anticipate $300 or $350 give or take. There are lots of fundraising opportunities from scrip to pizza sales. With some time, drive & planning, you can take advantage & offset a nice chuck of your ice fees. From time to time I will feature a SHAW fundraiser. See today’s post on Scrip.
